This experiential activity developed by Dr Hanif Kanjer is designed to help you understand how commodity derivatives markets work, specifically through gold futures.
Make strategic Buy/Sell decisions in the gold futures market based on changing prices and contract types, and aim to maximize your profit or minimize loss over the course of the simulation.

Choose one of the following:
Gold (Standard – 1 kg)
Gold Mini (100 g)
Gold Guinea (8 g)
Gold Petal (1 g)
Trade Type – Select Buy or Sell
Quantity – Enter how many contracts/lots you're trading
Lot Size – Choose from: 1g, 8g, 100g, 1000g
Current Market Price – Enter the market price per gram at the time of trade
Comments/Justification – Briefly explain your reason for this trade (optional but encouraged)
You can submit multiple trades, but only one trade per form submission.
Use real-world market analysis (news, charts, events) to inform your decisions.
Once submitted, you cannot edit or delete the trade — just like in real markets.
Trades will be tracked using your email and name, and your P&L (Profit/Loss) will be calculated based on actual or simulated price movements.
Trading will be allowed between [Insert Start Date] to [Insert End Date].
A Leaderboard will be shared weekly showing your performance versus peers.
Trade Value = Quantity × Lot Size × Market Price
Unrealized P&L = (New Market Price – Entry Price) × Quantity × Lot Size
P&L will be updated regularly on the dashboard
Final rankings will be based on:
Cumulative P&L
Consistency & Logic in trades
Participation frequency
Transaction cost
